proudly presents The Slippery Weasel Society. This group exhibition features works from 7 artists working in mediums ranging from dolls to photo realism to relief paintings. 

Instead of a traditional reception, the artists along with Flatlanders will be hosting "Weasel Camp" on Saturday, July 14th , 2012 from 11:00 to 3:00pm. This family fun event will highlight: an aluminum pour, live music, and hot dog stand, along with camp crafts and games for the kids: potato prints, weasel hats, snake puppets, pinecone crafts, corn hole and pin the tail on the weasel.  This exhibit is free of charge and will be open to the public from June 14th to September 8th, 2012.


The Slippery Weasel Society is an artists' collective centered in Detroit Michigan.  Their first exhibit was presented at Paint Creek Center for the Arts in Rochester, MI in August 2005.  They have since exhibited as a group at the University of Toledo Center for the Visual Arts, Bohemian National Home, Detroit, MI; The Scarab Club, Detroit, MI; Anton Art Center, Mount Clemens, MI; Popp's Packing, Hamtramck, MI and at the Cass Café, Detroit, MI.  Their exhibits take on various forms from group gallery shows to collaborative installations and collaborative events including hands-on workshops, camps, metal pours and performances.  Members participating vary with each event.

 

Weasels participating in this exhibit include Jeanne Bieri, Carl G. Butler, Mary Fortuna, Matthew Hanna, Andrew Krieger, Faina Lerman and Alison Wong.

 

Flatlanders Art Galleries are operated in conjunction with Flatlanders Sculpture Supply, a full service stone carving resource.
