Eric Zimmerman’s prints are largely developed through the process of etching; a process of excavation both literal and personal. He states, "Through a system of multiple additions and subtractions I am able to reveal, extract, and attempt to recreate my internal experiences. The nature of the copper plate allows for change, both positive and negative, while retaining the evidence of all previous states of an image."
Eric is currently seeking a Master of Fine Arts degree at the University of Texas at Austin after having completed his Bachelor of Fine Arts in printmaking at the Cleveland institute of Art in 2002. He recently received the Elizabeth Herzstein Endowed Presidential Scholarship in Art as well as the Lucas Foundation Endowed Scholarship Fund. |
