Mille Guldbeck Originally from Denmark, Mille Guldbeck has taught painting for Bowling Green State University for the past seven years. Her paintings, created from raw pigments and applied to birch plywood with casein, are presented as non-traditional landscapes as if seen from an aerial view. The exhibition entitled Transfigurations , is described by Mille as "...work (that) revolves around the complicated relationships of ordering within nature; (and) our need to make sense out of very complex and transient systems." To the viewer, these 'systems' result in a variety of textures in the paintings. |

Marc Folk Marc Folk , a life long resident of Toledo, OH and a graduate of the University of Toledo is currently best known as the Co-director of the Arts Commission of Greater Toledo. But Marc's current exhibition, Work From Scotland , reaffirms his place as an outstanding visual artist. Marc's quirky printmaking style illustrates themes developed while studying in Scotland. Using etchings and monoprints, he brings focus to subjects ranging from vegans to Frankenstein and a few others in between. |

Niki Havekost
Adrian, Michigan artist Niki Havekost received her MFA from the University of New Mexico in 1997 and hasn't looked back sense. Niki's most recent exhibition, Careful Measures , is her second solo show at Flatlanders and features jewel-like mixed media drawings inspired by her being in the kitchen!?! Gallery director, Ken Thompson, views this exhibition as being about, "...Niki's rediscovery of her love of drawing." The artist describes the work as, "...addressing the body's need for sustenance and nourishment and my desires for control. In these drawings I can combine, manage and manipulate both the objects and ideas that bring me pleasure and discomfort." |

Daniel Stewart Dan Stewart is no stranger to Flatlanders with his third solo exhibition New Tracks on the Mudpath . Dan returns with more fun and wacky paintings about his old friend Charlie (the dog) and a new friend Anxiety Bear. Although the work appears fun on the surface it deals with many underlying questions about decision making, acceptance and how heavy you can actually make a painting using traditional materials! Dan's work is emblematic of Dan and always entertaining. |
