 Pi Benio

A professor of art at Adrian College for over two decades Pi Benio's sculpture addresses personal issues pertaining to loss and foreboding. She combines figurative forms adorned with individual intricately woven combinations of items such as paper, string, wire, and cloth representative of individuals that have been lost utilizing materials that remind her of those individuals. In her third show at Flatlanders, her work appeals to the senses with a wonderful blend of intriguing forms and remarkable texture that share a very personal story.

Catherine Peet

Catherine Peet combines painting with assemblage to create imagery that incorporates ideas which she derives from mythology, nature, and spirituality. The found objects present a fitting canvass for her subtle narratives with vivid imagery that is visually engaging, whimsical, and thought provoking. At the age of 39, Catherine graduated Summa Cum Laude from Wayne State University in the School of Fine Arts and has won various awards in addition to having several solo exhibitions prior to her first show at Flatlanders.
