Robert E. Martin, F.A.I.A.
Bob was born in Dodge City, Kansas. He graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a B.S. in Architecture and awarded upon graduation "Outstanding Architectural Student" by the Architects Society of Ohio.
He studied with Ezra Hershberger at McPherson College in Kansas and has studied with Walter Chapman and Tony Couch. In 1958 he founded, with his partner, a 40+ architectural firm and has recently "repotted" to a single practice of painting and architecture.
He has exhibited in many juried shows including N.W. Ohio Watercolor Society, Toledo Artist Club and Spectrum where he has won numerous awards. He has held one-man exhibitions, including Mcpherson College in Mcpherson, Kansas and Goshen College in Goshen, Indiana. He has been listed in Whos who in America and Whos Who in The World.
Bob was elevated to Fellow in the American Institute of Architects in 1994. He was also named "Architect of the Year" by the Toledo Chapter of the American Institute of Architects in 1994.
Memberships include Signature Member of Ohio Watercolor Society, NW Ohio Watercolor Society, Toledo Artist Club, spectrum and the Title Club. He is a past President of the Toledo Federation of Art Societies.
His work can be seen at the SeaGate Gallery, Toledo; The Collectors corner at the Toledo Museum of Art; and the American Gallery in Toledo.
Bobs paintings are in corporate collections of the Wastman & Smith Ltd., Dana Corporation, Ultra-Lite Company, Mosser Construction, Mid-Am Bank, The Lathrop Company, as well as many private collections.
